Friends,
Here's the e-mail I received today:
"Your thesis has been accepted by the College of Graduate Studies. A bound copy will be sent to you in mid-August, unless you’d rather pick up your copy. Also, you have completed all the requirements for the MFA Degree in Creative Writing. The degree will be officially awarded July 25, 2008."
Hell yeah! Bless your awesome heart, Elaine Kay Ruch. Here's to you, you beautiful, thesis approving lady! (Click here, Elaine) Looks like my mistakes in the thesis either went undiscovered, or there weren't that many in the first place. Plus, they didn't mind my joke on the acknowledgements page that had me a little worried because other people may not realize it is a joke, which is what makes it even funnier to me when if by some chance five years from now some poor schlub pulls that off the shelf, sees that and says, "What's this about?"
This certainly is turning the boat around. I even got decent news about this editor job I will be applying to. Not that good, but turns out there was a mistake in the job posting that makes my life a lot easier in applying to the job. Strangest thing is that I have to provide my undergraduate transcripts to them, but not necessarily my graduate transcripts. I'm not sure I understand that, but whatever, a couple weeks back I stumbled on a cache of official undergrad transcripts, so this too is good news. Now, let's keep this feel-good train a rolling, eh?

Congratulations, and best of luck on the job front.
My mom's middle name is Kay. Her first name is Elaine, too. Her last name isn't Ruch, though.
