Bad Music Sunday: Base Republican Hoedowns

Friends,

This may seem a little one-sided politically, a little stereotypical, and not fully representative since I'm not including any Christian rock jams here...but, fuck it. These songs are awful.

Lee Greenwood - God Bless the U.S.A (Live!)
Check out his pants. And, I got this idea from that nugget I learned on Facebook from Darren about how Lee Greenwood was appointed to a six year term on the National Arts Council by our lame duck president.

John Rich - Raisin McCain
This is John Rich of "Big and Rich" fame. I can only assume that the other person of that country duo powerhouse is named Hieronymus Bertrand Big.

Hank Williams Jr. - McCain/Palin Tradition

Alan Jackson - Where Were You? (Live!)

Darryl Worley - Have You Forgotten?
I could not embed the video to this song here. And all the fans of this song who made tribute videos included scenes of the planes flying into the World Trade Center. For obvious reasons, I won't be embedding those as it may be hard to laugh appreciatively at a bad song while watching all these tribute videos of September 11th footage. So, instead, I'll link to the original video right here.

Charlie Daniels - Simple Man
This is not an official video. Not that it couldn't be, but it's not.

While I do think that the Raisin' McCain song is shit aesthetically speaking, there's just something about seeing (a) the lead singer, Rich or whatever, playing some air-fiddle next to the woman playing fiddle-fiddle (because we would never know where that sound was coming from if he hadn't led us there) and (b) that midget with the crutches singing along in the back there.

I feel like I've made a HUGE mistake in voting having not seen this video until after the election.

I'm glad someone else noticed the midget in crutches. Which brings me to my next point. Bryan, have you heard of nugget porn? I bet you, of all people, have. I tried explaining it at the bar the other night and just got blank stares.
