Friends,
On those mornings where I get up early enough, I like to catch KMSU's morning program Shuffle Function with Shy Boy Tim (who works at Barnes and Noble) and whoever that girl is. [edit: Her name is Shelly....Thanks Pantload nee Ande!] They usually play hipster indie stuff with a fair dose of music oddities (anything from Groucho Marx singing Lydia the Tattooed Lady, to the Dondero High School Acapella Choir singing Lady Madonna). Anyways, this morning they played a song that probably should fall into the oddity category, but I loved it regular. And, so help me god, it was by William Shatner. It was his cover of Pulp's Common People (click the link for a video of their version) from the 2005 William Shatner record "Has Been." I want to buy this record, and I want to own this song. I want to learn how to play this song on the guitar, and I want to rock like William Shatner.
Behold, Shatner singing that song live on The Tonight Show:
VIVA EL WILLIAM SHATNER!
