More Kindling

Here is a link to Newsweek's article about Amazon's Kindle. This article is clearly in the Pro-Kindle corner. It's worth checking out, if anything for a well-informed opinion about this abomination. The article is convincing to a point, but not enough to sway me (especially when it gets into how a Kindle will somehow redefine authorship...and then there's still the whole book killer aspect of this too).

Keep an eye out for the James Patterson quote in this. It pretty much sums up everything I had always believed to be true about James Patterson (though I have never read one of his books).

VIVA LIBROS!

I kinda like the idea of the Kindle. It would be really nice, and I think this is the real customer base for this product, for people that travel but like to read. Also, people who like to have their reading material on them, but don't like to carry the books. It won't kill books. Nothing will. There's something about human nature that craves a hard copy. The selling of books, however, will eventually become extinct. Something just for the libraries and bibliophiles out there.

Interesting first impressions from a Kindle user (who happens to be a publishing CEO):
