I love them so, because they lose. They lose, they lose, and then they lose some more. Then, they go and unveil the most sucktastic performance of their long, long history....
Today, they have given up 8 homeruns to the Atlanta Braves. 8 in one game is the most in Cubs history. Oh, the game isn't over yet. It's only in the bottom of the seventh as I am writing this (and Bruce Weber, one time Saluki basketball coach, and now suddenly, the bee-knees of the NCAA while coaching the Fightin' Illini just hacked his way through Take Me Out to the Ballgame like how the natives in Apocalypse Now hacked up that water buffalo.). The Cubs could give up more homeruns by the end of this thing.
I love the Cubs because they lose. Oh, yes they do.
