Ad Baculum

Friends,

According to The Nizkor Project, the logical fallacy of an appeal to fear is as follows:

Description of Appeal to Fear:

The Appeal to Fear is a fallacy with the following pattern:
1. Y is presented (a claim that is intended to produce fear).

2. Therefore claim X is true (a claim that is generally, but need not be, related to Y in some manner).

This line of "reasoning" is fallacious because creating fear in people does not constitute evidence for a claim.

Now, how about some campaign video example of this fallacy, eh?

Hillary "Fearmongering" Clinton:

That's just disgusting and woefully desperate. Shame on you, Hillary Clinton. Way to elevate the campaign. I think it would be more effective, and honest, if it was just a clip of her begging and weeping for votes. With shit like this, if she's the nominee, lord forbid, come November, it's enough to make you want to vote Nader or immigrate to Canada or maybe even New Zealand.

viva el mustache, y viva obama
