1) I apologize to all for missing the Good Thunder activities today.

2) Dust off the thesaurus, William F. Buckley died.

3) Today, Robert Bly was named the first official poet laureate of Minnesota. And were you aware that Carol Bly died of ovarian cancer this past December?

4) Comprehensive exams are Saturday, as is a Charlie Parr show at the Sugar Room.

5) I'm keeping my participant-quality beard after the competition...until the thesis reading, then it's mustache time.

6) St. Louis Cardinals had their first Spring Training game today against the NY Mets, and they won 7-0. Tomorrow though, the Cardinals face Johan Santana.
