Bad Movie Idea Wednesday

Friends,

This isn't a regular feature here on BOMM, it's just that I learned about a horrible movie coming soon to video stores, or maybe even theaters, near you.

See, someone thought it was a good idea to make a sequel to The Lost Boys. It's called Lost Boys 2 - The Tribe. Here's the trailer in glorious ripped-from-MTV-YouTube quality:



Naturally, there were many questions left unanswered by the original Lost Boys movie, but I wonder why is now the time to answer them. What is it about the world we live in that society is ready for Lost Boys 2...21 years after the original?

I just hope that it can be the rare sequel that can match up to the original awesomeness of the original. I'm a little serious here because I loved the Lost Boys movie when I was younger, and Keifer Sutherland was a scary motherfucker in that...and how surprised were you when it turned out that guy who played in those Dodge commericals and was Lorelai Gilmore's daddy on the Gilmore Girls was the head vampire? Pretty damn surprised I bet. Plus...it had BOTH Coreys, and I think it was the first movie to do so, and therefore introduced the world to the duo that was the Bogey/Bacall or Hepburn/Tracy of the Andrew McCarthy-era of cinema.
