Getting Closer...

Friends,

Updated the weight loss tally in the sidebar. I just barely surpassed this months goal, which surprised me. And it is, of course, Emily's fault. She baked cookies and I of course had to eat them all, and other diet detours, though I've never really put myself on a diet except to avoid too much of the bad stuff. Oh, yeah, and that vegetarian thing. That too, but that's easy stuff. Let's see, the Biggest Loser DVDs work, but they are hard as hell, and as a result my right knee has been getting progressively more achy all month. So last few days I've sort of doing my own thing with a little biking and some exercises from those DVDs, but nothing that requires a lot of jumping, squatting or undue stress on the knees. How they got those people on that show to keep up with them and not blow out all their ligature is beyond me because all that stretching can only do so much, you know.

Anyway, I'm finally spiraling down to close to 100 pounds total lost from my highest weight abotu two years ago. Kind of sickening to think it's taken this long to get here, but hey, at least I'm here, you know. Didn't drink until I was 22. Didn't lose my virginity till college. I've always been late to the parties, but at least when I get there I tend to have a good time.

I think the folks on Biggest Loser not falling apart at the joints has to do with the little note they have at the end about how each contestant is under the supervision and guidance of a medical professional. That's the part you don't see on the TV.

Good for you, Big Sexy! Ande's right; what you don't see on the show or dvd is the breaks the contestants took to vomit and weep. As long as you're not doing either of those with great frequency, I'd say you're ahead of the curve.
