this year we (i mean emily) planted a modest garden on our patio. it has marigolds (not pictured, they're seeds), pansies, violas and another flower that i don't know. either way, here it is, our first attempt at growing something...

Believe it or not pansies are actually pretty tough and hardy flowers. Makes one wonder why they call a wimpy person a pansy?
