Tie a Yellow Ribbon

Friends,

The below video is terrible. Just bad. Not ironically bad, or 1980s bad,or 1990s bad, or bad but meaning good. This is an honest to goodness artistic failure on these videographers. However, I would have to say that the song is tip top. I wouldn't call the song great, because it is certainly poorly sung and sloppily played, but I love it just the same. There are days where I walk around humming the violin solo that begins this track in my head and I imagine myself singing this song to a small, inattentive group of bargoers with my wife sawing away on violin. We'd be a regular, untalented Tony Orlando & Dawn. Well, she's got some chops on instruments, so that leave me to sing. And that'd be ugly, in a variety of ways. Maybe that's why I like this song. The artist, Michael Hurley, doesn't set the bar too awful high for people like me.

Anyway, turn up the volume, look away from the screen, and enjoy the video. Oh, and yes, this song was featured on Deadwood.

Here it is: Michael Hurley - The Hog of the Forsaken:

VIVA EL MUSTACHE
