Tomorrow, Tomorrow

Wholl Stop The Rain - Creedence Clearwater Revival

I'm really getting sick of this raining. Any of you guys know anyone building an ark?

Anyway, the tomorrow night is probably my last time to catch Charlie Parr playing in Mankato. It's free and at the Sugar Room, so you can't argue with the price. Venue leaves a little to be desired, mostly sightlines and comfort. Shows starts at 9, but you really should be there early if you're interested. Here's another taste-o-Parr.

Now, the next day, at Luke's house, will be the last "game" night. One game will be played. It's Edward Fortyhands. So who knows what kind of good times are ahead. Here's a pick I snagged from Flickr to give everyone a taste of the Edward Fortyhands business.

Now, of course, I ask you, my public, what two forties should I tape to my hands so I can participate?

I'm going with King Cobra. It's not too heavy (full stomach) and not too light (will make you want to pee). St. Ides and Olde English have more alcohol and will likely cause blackouts. Mickey's is a good one. Malt liquor works better than Miller, Bud, etc. (again, the lighter beer will make you want to urinate quicker than malt liquor--that's been my experience).

I've always been a fan of Colt 45 for the fortyhands. But I think I'm going to change my lineup for this scrimmage to King Cobra. Or maybe a King and a Colt. Just for a little variety. The real question is in what your technique will be.
First off, is this a timed thing or a just-finish-before-puking/peeing thing?
Second, is one disqualified for blowing chunks after the drinking is over?
Third, who is going to give me a ride there and back so I don't have to drive?

If it's a tied thing, then I'll have to practice a little more. I can't drink fast. If it's a finish-before-puking/peeing, then I think I'll be ok. Just have to keep the pace up.

Oh, and which is better, downing one, then the other or drinking evenly?
I've always been a fan of the even drinking so the weight is balanced.

I've never thought of Edward 40-hands as a competition with those who are also engaging in the activity. The whole point of the event is to finish both forties before pissing yourself. In a way, you're only competing with your bladder. My method consists of drinking at a steady pace, making sure I don't go too fast (causing a stomach ache) or too slow (feeling the urge to urinate). And for some reason, I really like using parentheticals on Bryan's blog (when talking about EFH's).
